Himalayan cat is also known as colorpoint Persian and Himmy. Himalayan cat has an extremely long and fluffy fur. It has blue eyes and points of a Siamese. Himalayan is the term referred to in American whereas in Europe it is known as colorpoint. Himalayan is a result of cross between a Siamese (for the markings) and a Persian (for coat length and temperament).

Body of Himalayan cat comes in white or cream however; the points come in many colors such as blue, brown, lilac, chocolate, flame, red and cream. Points can be tabby or tortoiseshell-patterned. Its eyes are deep blue. Its gentle and entertaining disposition makes them as most popular pets. Highland Lynx is the only breed that has been developed from two existing breeds Desert Lynx and the Jungle Curl. Highland Lynx is similar to Desert Lynx except curled ears. The Jungle curl is a curled eared African Jungle cat hybrid and Desert Lynx is a hybrid between wild bobcat and mild domesticated cat. Highland Lynx has many characteristics that are similar to the bobcat except the curled ears of the Jungle curls. Highland Lynx is a family cat. Highland Lynx comes in both long and short hair versions and requires the veterinary same care as any domestic cat. Many of the Highland cats are six-toed. Havana Brown, also known as Swiss Mountain cat, is similar to oriental shorthair cats. It is a moderately sized, muscular and shorthaired cat with a body of average length. Its coat color must be brown and typically reddish brown without any tabby markings. Its whiskers should also be brown. Its eyes are green. Head is longer than wide. Nose should have a distinct stop at the eyes. The name Havana brown is probably derived from the similarity of its coat color with Havana cigars.

Exotic Shorthair is the result of cross between American Shorthair and Persian cat. It was developed in the United States in the year 1960. Exotic Shorthair has the same body as Persian cat, but a thick and dense short coat. Exotic Shorthair is preferred by the people who like the personality of a Persian cat but do not want the hassles of grooming longhaired cats. They are often known as ‘Lazy Man’s Persian’.

Exotic Shorthair has a compact, rounded and powerfully-built body with a short and thick neck. They have large round eyes, short snub nose sweet facial expression and small ears. Head is round and massive with very broad skull, rounded forehead and round and full cheeks. Its muzzle is short, broad and round. It has a strong chin and broad and powerful jaws. Its ears are small and rounded at the tips. Eyes are large, round and well-spaced. Its neck is short and thick. Its body is medium-sized, low to the ground with a broad chest and massive shoulders. Egyptian Mau is a medium-sized and shorthaired domesticated cat. Egyptian Mau is the only naturally spotted breed of cats. Spots appear just not only on the coat but also on the skin. They can run at speeds greater than 30 mph or 48 kmph. They possess musical voices. They are known to chirp, chortle and emit other distinctly unusual sounds when stimulated.

Cornish Rex is a domestic breed of cats that has no hair except for down hairs. Most of the breeds have different types of hair in their coats. Outer fur is guard hairs are about 5 cm long in shorthaired animals and 10+ cm long in longhaired animals. After the outercoat there is a middle level called as awn hairs. Finally, there is an undercoat or down hairs, which is very fine and about 10 cm long. Cornish Rex has only the undercoat or down hair and therefore shed only few fine hairs. Other cats shed lots of hair unlike Cornish Rex.

Coat of Cornish Rex is very fine and sometimes extremely curly, being the softest coat among all the cat breeds. They have a very light coat that makes them suitable only for indoor living in warm and dry conditions. They are susceptible to hypothermia in winter if they are left outdoors. Cornish Rex tends to hang around light bulbs and other warm places. Cornish Rex is often referred to as the greyhound of the cats. They are playful and kittenish throughout their long lives. It is an adventurous, extremely curious and intelligent animal. It is a very mischievous cat that tries to explore wherever it can go including inside the refrigerators and washing machines.
