The Norwegian Forest Cat hails from Europe and is also known as ?Wegie? in North America. It is a very furry cat with a playful personality. It is very intelligent and sociable to humans and its own kind.


The history of Norwegian Forest cats is very lengthy. It originated as an ordinary cat breed found in homes in Norway. It was only in the 20th Century that the cat breed was exported to other parts of the world such as Germany.

The Norwegian Forest cat owns a head that is shaped like an equilateral triangle. It has medium to large ears that are round-tipped and broad-based. Its eyes are large and almond-shaped. The body of the Norwegian Forest cat is muscular and medium in length with a long and bushy tail. Its coat is distinct since it consists of a thick undercoat overlaid by a glossy and long outer coat that hangs loosely on the sides.
