Somali is a longhaired cousin of Abyssinian cats. Somali shares lots of characteristic and temperaments with Abyssinian cats, the only difference being in the length of fur. Unlike many other longhaired cats, Somali cats shed very little excess hair. Rather, they shed their entire coat once or twice in a year. With a strikingly bushy tails and ruddy coat, they are often nicknamed fox cats. Somali is a playful, intelligent, active and fun-loving breed. They constantly demand human attention and companionship.

Somali is a medium-sized cat with a well-proportioned body and a slender frame. Coat is 2-3 inches long and comes in shades of ruddy, red, blue and fawn. They have beautiful markings on their face. They have a black stripe down its back with large ears, a full ruff and breeches, which all contribute further their fox-like looks. Coat has tabby markings while some of the varieties may show full tabby stripes on their body. Somali cats have a dark ring around their eyes with which they look as if they have applied mascara or eyelid darkener.

Serengeti Cat is a cross-breed between a Bengal Cat and an Oriental Shorthair Cat. It is a tall, golden cat with beautiful black spots. They are very much like African Serval Cats except that they are a tamer version of the exotic cats breeds. Serengeti Cats were created in California in 1994 and are still in the development stages. Development is in progress with an ultimate aim to develop a cat similar to Serval Cats but without any blood from wild cats.

Serengeti cats are spotted cats with long legs and large ears. Adult males can weigh up to 15 pounds. Tabby, ebony silver, ebony smoke and solid black are the most commonly recognized colors. In UK, they are famous as brown spotted cats. Owing to their mixed ancestry, Serengeti cats carry mixed genes from number of domestic and wild cats including Asian Leopard Cats, British Shorthair Cats, Egyptian Mau Cats, Abyssinian Cats, Siamese Cats and even Persian Cats. Serengeti is a beautiful cat with lovely temperaments that makes it suitable as family pets.

Ocicat is a rare breed of cats, which is a mixture of Siamese, Abyssinian and American Shorthaired. It has spots resembling wild cats and a temperament of domestic animal. Abyssinian cat is a breed of domesticated cats, which is believed to have been originated in Egyptian port Alexandria. Despite the wide scale acceptance of its Egyptian origin, the origin of Abyssinian cat has always been a subject long debates and controversies. Overall, Abyssinian cat has a strong, medium length, lithe, fine bone structure and well-developed muscular body. Its legs are slender proportionate to the body. It has a fairly long tail broad at the base and slightly tapering to a point. Its paws are small and oval, head is broad and wedge-shaped, eyes are almond shaped golden, green, hazel or copper colored, and nose and chin are in a straight line. Its ears are large and broad that are cupped at the base and moderately pointed at the tips. Coat is short, dense, and silky and possesses a beautiful sheen. Abyssinian cats are extrovert, intelligent and willful. They are generally preferred as show cats.
