Pixie bob is a breed of cat that was considered as a progeny of naturally occurring Bobcats hybrid. However, later on, the claims were denied after the DNA testing showed no traces of bobcats genes. Nowadays, pixie bob cats are considered as wholly domestic breeds. They resemble North American Bobcats. Few of the species are shorthaired while some species are longhaired. Pixie bobs are highly intelligent, social, active and friendly and sometimes also capable of understanding human words and phrases.

Pixie bob cat is a large animal that weighs around 18 pounds in males and 14 pounds in females. As compared to average domestic cats, which weigh under 10 pounds, pixie bob cats are pretty larger cats. Majority of pixie bobs have black fur and skin on the bottom of their paws. They have tipped ears with heavy hairs, black lips and white fur around the eyes. Stomach is often reddish-gold with few broken stripes. Eyes are triangularly shaped with heavy eyebrows. Depending upon the species, the breed may be short tailed , long tailed or tail-less.

Persian cat is one of the oldest breed of domestic longhair cat. They are the most popular, revered and pampered breeds of cats in the United States and Europe. The first Persian cats were imported from Persia into Italy in 1620 and from Turkey to France around the same time. From France, Persian cats soon went to Britain and from there it spread further throughout Europe and America.

Persian cat has an extremely long and thick coat. They have large eyes and a wide head with ears that are set far apart. Their muzzle is extremely shortened. They can have any color markings including pointed, golden, tabby and blue, among other. Due to their long and thick fur, Persian need regular grooming in order to keep it at its best condition. Some of the animals also need regular cleaning of the eyes otherwise they may have trouble in seeing. Their eye color can be orange, blue or any other odd color. Average lifespan of Persian cats is 10-19 years.

Havana Brown, also known as Swiss Mountain cat, is similar to oriental shorthair cats. It is a moderately sized, muscular and shorthaired cat with a body of average length. Its coat color must be brown and typically reddish brown without any tabby markings. Its whiskers should also be brown. Its eyes are green. Head is longer than wide. Nose should have a distinct stop at the eyes. The name Havana brown is probably derived from the similarity of its coat color with Havana cigars.

Unlike other breeds of cats that use sense of smell to investigate curious items, Havana brown often uses its paws to examine the objects. It also uses its paws to communicate with their masters. It is blessed with a pixyish soft voice however; they can cry loudly when they have lost track of their owners or human companions. They are affectionately sociable, sweet, even-tempered, gentle and intelligent animals. They are playful and mischievous animals that often steal pens, pencils, earrings or whatever they can get into their mouths.

Exotic Shorthair is the result of cross between American Shorthair and Persian cat. It was developed in the United States in the year 1960. Exotic Shorthair has the same body as Persian cat, but a thick and dense short coat. Exotic Shorthair is preferred by the people who like the personality of a Persian cat but do not want the hassles of grooming longhaired cats. They are often known as ‘Lazy Man’s Persian’.

Exotic Shorthair has a compact, rounded and powerfully-built body with a short and thick neck. They have large round eyes, short snub nose sweet facial expression and small ears. Head is round and massive with very broad skull, rounded forehead and round and full cheeks. Its muzzle is short, broad and round. It has a strong chin and broad and powerful jaws. Its ears are small and rounded at the tips. Eyes are large, round and well-spaced. Its neck is short and thick. Its body is medium-sized, low to the ground with a broad chest and massive shoulders. Coat is dense and fluffy and comes in all the colors of Persian cats. Exotic Shorthair is a gentle and calm cat that tends to show more affection and loyalty than most of the other breeds of cats.
