Shorthaired and longhaired both the breeds have a double coat with a thick and short undercoat and long coarse outer coat. With a friendly and affectionate temperaments, Manx are suitable as family pets and companions.

Overall, Abyssinian cat has a strong, medium length, lithe, fine bone structure and well-developed muscular body. Its legs are slender proportionate to the body. It has a fairly long tail broad at the base and slightly tapering to a point. Its paws are small and oval, head is broad and wedge-shaped, eyes are almond shaped golden, green, hazel or copper colored, and nose and chin are in a straight line. Its ears are large and broad that are cupped at the base and moderately pointed at the tips. Coat is short, dense, and silky and possesses a beautiful sheen. Abyssinian cats are extrovert, intelligent and willful. They are generally preferred as show cats.
