Bombay Cats are either British Bombay Cats or American Bombay Cats. It is a shorthaired breed of domestic cats. Bombay cat is the name given to Asian black colored cats. It is a Burmese type cat with black coat, toes, nose and copper to greenish eyes. American Bombay cat was developed in 1958 in Kentucky, USA, by pairing an American shorthaired cat with a Burmese cat for creating a domesticated cat resembling a wild Panther or baby Panther. The offspring created out of this pairing indeed resulted in a cat resembling black Leopard of India. The name Bombay Cat was given from the name of Indian city Bombay.

Bombay Cat is a muscular and agile cat with a short, satiny and closely fitting black coat. Its head is rounded and wide with a medium short, blunt and tapered muzzle. Its eyes are set apart and shaped like a Burmese cat and the color of eyes is usually golden. Its ears are medium sized, broad and slightly rounded. Bombay cats are fun loving and affectionate. Except South America and France, throughout the world, black cat is regarded as the harbinger of bad luck and an omen of the dark side.

Birman Cats is a domestic breed of cats that has a pale colored body and darker points with deep blue eyes. Its country of origin is Burma and it is also known by Sacred Cat of Burma and Sacred Birman. Birman cats are regarded as sacred cats because they were used as sacred companions of Burmese Priests. They were also considered as Temple Cats. Despite its legendary origin, modern history of Birman cats is shrouded in couple of mysteries and controversies.

With its adorable and affectionate appearance, Birman cats have cuddled their way into the hearts and homes of thousands of cat lovers all over the world. It is a large, stocky and well-built cat with strikingly round and deep blue eyes. Its soft coat comes in medium to long length with evenly colored points that come in a diverse variety of shades including lilac, seal, chocolate and blue. Birman cats have symmetrically white mitts on all the four feet. It has relatively small ears as compared to other cats. Birman is the only breed that has fingers and toes in pure white color. They have moderate and affectionate, almost dog like temperament and are suitable as wonderful family pets.

American Curl belongs to a breed of domestic street cats that was discovered in Lakewood, California in 1981. From the time of its discovery, this breed has come a long way and has been modified several times from large to medium and semi foreign types. American curl is a cat breed that is characterized by unusual ears that curl back from the face toward the center of the back of the skull. This is the precise reason for the name American Curl. It is a very playful, elegant and curious breed of cats.

It comes in a medium size with weight of about 5-10 pounds. It does not reach maturity until the age of 2-3 years. American Curl is a strong and healthy breed of cats that are free from the generic problems faced by many pure-breed cats. Kittens are born with straight ears that start curling withing 10 days from the birth. After about four months, ears become stiff and hard and the curling stops. American curls, both longhaired and shorthaired, have soft and silky coats that lie flat against the body. American Curl is not yet a very common breed of cats.

Burmese cat is a lovable and people-friendly breed of domesticated cat that comes in two varieties American Burmese Cat and British Burmese Cat. Burmese cat is a shorthaired cat with golden or yellowish eyes. It has a short, glossy and satin like coat. American Burmese cats are studier and have a life span ranging from 15 to 18 years. Burmese cats are very sociable and easily form strong bonds with the masters. These adorable, loyal and intelligent felines have an uncanny ability to make cat-lover out of almost anyone.
